It was the worst killings in India's history last November 26, 2008 and right now, it seems that the relatives of the victims can have justice, finally. Justice for what? If you can recall, on that said date, a Pakistani gunman by the name of Ajmal Kasab, hurled hand grenades and indiscriminately firing at hundreds of people killing 166 Indians and several foreigners. Sources said that there is a Mumbai attacks video of that fateful day but I'm not sure.

Meanwhile, special judge M L Tahaliyani is now reading judgment today, May 3. Along with him, his two Indian co-accused Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Shaikh, are also being tried in court. They have been tried under the provisions of various acts including IPC, Bombay Police Act, Passport Act, Customs Act, Foreigners Act, Damage to Public Property Act, Railways Act and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

There is a huge pile of evidence that can send the three to the gallows. Special prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam has charged Kasab with not just the criminal acts of killing and injuring scores of innocent people, but has termed him guilty of the entire conspiracy that went into planning and executing the dastardly attack.

It was later learned that Kasab is a highly trained and motivated member of the Pakistani terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) who underwent months of training in weapons and intelligence so he could execute the well-planned attack on Mumbai.

I was just six months away from qualifying as a doctor when I won the Miss World title.”

It is also called Dol Jatra or Dol Prunima in Bengal, Rangapanchami in Maharashtra, Kamavilas, Kaman Pandugai or Kaman-dahanam in South India. Edible sweets are in many different colors, too! If you want an idea of what Holi is, it is like a combination of Thanksgiving, Carnival, Valentine's Day and Easter but instead of the eggs getting colored, it's the people who got "colored". That is how this Holi celebration in India is celebrated.

This coming Feb. 27, 2010, it's going to be the Filmfare Awards 2010 for India's best actors, actresses and films in Bollywood. I have been following some Indian films which are very outstanding and impressive. One of the best movies I've seen so far when it comes to Bollywood is 3 Idiots directed by the well-known Raj Kumar Hirani. Paa is also a good movie which starred Amitabh Bachchan. For sure, it would be a star-studded event just like Hollywood's Oscars but time will come when Bollywood will rise to the top.

Anyway, here is my prediction for the Filmfare Awards 2010:

Winter Olympics Goes Indian In Ice Dancing

India has never had any participants in any Winter Games and it's very obvious why. But this Winter Olympics 2010, Meryl Davis and Charlie White, who are very popular when it comes to ice dancing, performed at the ice dancing Olympics competition of the 21st Winter Olympics in an Indian attire last Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 held in Vancouver, Canada. Their performance was very impressive so are their Indian attire and the judges as well as the audience appreciated it pretty well.

However, prior to performing at the Winter Olympic Games, they have already performed numerous times wearing Indian attire and ice dancing to Indian tunes in several different competitions. Just recently, they have won the National Figure Skating Championship for the 2nd year in a row. They performed to the tune of a mix of Indian music starting from "Bunty Aur Bubbly", then, "Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka" and finished their routine with "Dhola Re", a song from the movie "Devdas".

Last Sunday, they finished second with 108.55 points in the Winter Olympics 2010 ice dancing competition.The pair began ice skating together when they were still 9 years old. They are also the 2009 U.S. National Champions.

Shawn Lane, Jonas Hellborg & The Vinayakram Brothers

I didn't know when was the time I started to get myself involved with anything about India although I haven't been to India ever before. But I just got hooked up with anything about India when I saw Shawn Lane (RIP), Jonas Hellborg and the Vinayakram Brothers play in Paris in 2004 in front of a small gathering of people in a small club. They played jazz fusion music which includes "Aga of the Ladies" and "Who Would You Like To Be" among other great tracks. I was totally moved and mesmerized by their music, combining Western rock and Eastern Hindi music creating a sound that is very unique and versatile. With legendary individuals like the late Shawn Lane on electric guitars and Jonas Hellborg on acoustic bass, it was a sound that is very unique. Flavors of the music were added courtesy of the Vinayakram Brothers. They were great percussionists and the vocals are just fantastic! You must have this DVD so you can listen to them!

I would certainly love to see them live, up-close and personal and for me, they are a bunch of super musicians in India the world has ever seen and heard! And I would love to go to India and and get to know more about the Indian culture and of course, Bollywood, cricket and the beautiful Indian women!
